Grinding of Steel for an Automotive Application

Steel GrindingThe tight tolerance profile grinding shown here is an example of the precision work Sturdy Grinding and Machinery is known for. Using our advanced Mitsubishi PD32-B50 precision and production grinding machine we can effectively process SAE 8620H steel to the specifications named in any customer supplied drawing.  In this example, we maintained a tight tolerance of ± 0.005mm. The final dimension of this part was180mm in length, with a material finish of 20 RA.

We employed comprehensive inspection protocols to ensure the parts we produced were consistent in terms of integrity and quality; including dimensional, visual, runout, finish, and length. For this customer, we produced 5,000 parts per week as needed. For more details about this steel grinding application or the other centerless and CNC OD grinding capabilities available at our ISO approved shop, please see the table below or contact us directly.
